After 6 months.. back to AO

After 6 months of break, i decided to come back on Anarchy-Online! First, let me tell you my girlfriend wasn’t very “excited” about it. But really, all my close friends started playing WoW and i couldn’t resist anymore. i gave it a try too, but honestly, Wow is ugly, not the graphics but the design. AO is ugly cause its graphics are now very old but you don’t have the feeling to play a MMORPG with Play Mobile style characters. How can people have fun playing a cow or a troll (that looks like a boar tbh)???

I played CSS, the excellent Crysis Warhead and the excellent mod of HL2 aka insurgency (really worth a try).

i didn’t miss AO at all during those 6 months, until last week. I came back with a plan in mind, level my 180 keeper girl (yes, what a plan you may think ), not that i’m bored in life but the professional status of my girlfriend changed and she wakes up very early (and then go sleep early, i have time to spend at night).

I was happy to see that my org, the spartans, was still the kickass org it was when i took my break. Some old friends are still there, and some others joined the org because my previous org is now completly dead(Les Hurleurs).

Well, i hope i will have fun, that’s all that matters in a game after all.

The sitemesh framework

If you are looking for a simple and light java framework to use different layouts in you website, Sitemesh might be for you then. Loic Mathieu wrote an introduction to this framework on his blog -> here (in french) . The framework principle is based on the decorator pattern. I used this framework in a few projects and i like it because it’s very easy to use, even if at the beginning i encountered a few problems, for exemple a page that is chain decorated. Currently there is a bug with the error page that can’t be decorated but it will be fixed in next release.
